Voodoo in violet | HAED #1

Hello Peeps!

As you know, I have been spending this past week stitching away on Voodoo
- To be honest, it was more of making a start and tackling the first of many pages! -
and I have been having a great time slowly (very slowly) seeing it starting to appear on my fabric.

Started on the 14/09/2017
Using DMC magic guide fabric 25 count, white evenweave
Stitching 1 over 1, full crosses with DMC

Design size is 400 stitches wide by 557 stitches high
88 colours

Finished design should be measuring
16 inches wide by 22-1/4 inches high

Started on the first page at the top left corner

Trying to zoom a little...

I know it doesn't look like anything at the moment,
but I can honestly say that I am hooked on HAED!!

I am proud of how much I've achieved in a week.
There is plenty more to do, I am fully aware of it,
but I am simply having great fun and enjoying stitching one cross at a time!

I will be back soon with what is most likely to be another HAED start ;)

Toodles,
Mii

    1. Lol, thank you Brigitte!
I am honestly addicted and really enjoying it.
Fear not, only 2 for now. I plan on stitching 1 week on one and 1 week on the other and alternate. I thought it would be a good idea to not be put off by all the black/purple and greens ;)

    1. Lol! On my fabric, it won't be such a big piece!!
Yes, HAED are full coverage and have a massive amount of little crosses... but they do look fantastic when finished and are surprisingly fun and easy to stitch.
I will be starting the mermaid this weekend.
My excuse to alternate between the two projects ;)

  33. Love both of these JBG pieces. A little late seeing this update. Somehow I missed it. For some reason the VooDoo piece seems to be an appropriate one to be working on this time of year. Hope to see another update soon. Happy stitching! Andrea

  34. Wow I never imagined that you will be into HAEDs. You have made great progress on this one. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

  35. Great start, Mii. I see you have finally joined the HaED family. You will never go back! These patterns are addicting! I see you are stitching 25 count. You will have to let me know what you think of it. I prefer 20 ct Laguna myself, 25 is just a bit too small for my old eyes.
But you're off to a good start!

    1. Hi, thanks for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment!
Voodoo has been put aside (I know, already!? It is rather addictive) and I have been working on Pearl Swirl Mermaid for the past 6 weeks and am getting close to a page finish and more. I will post an update as soon as it's done!
Worked also on 25 count, 1 over 1, full crosses. I am ok with it but my eye sight is not the best so I use a magnifier and daylight and it is fine.
It is really really slow progress but will look superb when finished... in a few years :) So addictive, I already have a wish list and plan on having another cheeky start for Xmas, this time on a mini (so progress will be faster).
