Retreat gifts

Hello Peeps!
This is the last post about the latest retreat I have been to.
Gift bags were bursting with lovely
charts, fabrics, threads and much more...
But I want to show you the stitched models I have been gifted with.
A sweet little cow cube made by Justine

It is so tiny, I love it!

A lovely Harry Potter ornament
made by Rachel

It was lovely to see you both again.
I adore both creations (and all your other gifts, of course!),
thank you so much for taking the time to stitch
and finish them off for me.
They will be treasured!

We're Not Gossiping - Lizzie Kate

Hello Peeps!

Let's continue with the retreat makes!
This time, with the one I have made for Rachel

I have chosen to stitch
We're Not Gossiping
From Lizzie Kate

Stitched on 16 count Aida fabric from Sew It All, Tumbleweed colour
2 over 1, using the recommended DMC threads
Started 15 Mar 2016
Finished 17 Mar 2016
Unfortunately I forgot to set my stopwatch for this project,
so have no idea how long it took me to stitch it!

Finished off as a cube using fabric & ribbons from my stash

My picture of the finished cube is not the best.
There are yellow cute little bees printed on the fabric,
which I found would be great for the design!

Woodland Sampler (April) - The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery

Hello Peeps!
As you know, I have been busy stitching away on my tulips in April and
have fallen behind with my Woodland Sampler
Time to sort that out!

2 over 1 using DMC threads

Finished: 8 May 2016

The April month design is a little Jackalope.
Jackalopes are mythical animals of North American folklore,
that look like a hare with antlers.

See you soon for the May design.

Close To You - Maia | Finished!

Good afternoon Peeps!
Yesterday evening was celebration time in my
small little world...
Close To You is officially FiNiShEd!
Who is joining me for a Happy Dance?!

I am in all honesty, absolutely thrilled & full of joy!
This has been a long journey
Started in Sep 2012 and
Finished in May 2016
Obviously worked on & off,
more often ignored in my WIP bag
Faithful April was the best thing I could have done.

Will give it a gentle wash & take it to the framer
so that he can work his magic :)
Then, off to my mum in France!
Fingers crossed she will like it!

Guernsey Cow - Kate Mawdsley

Hello Peeps!
As you already know, Justine, Rachel & myself
regularly attend our very own weekend stitching retreat.
We usually stay at The Dairy, a beautiful cottage in
Staffordshire where everything is cow related.
With our next retreat fast approaching,
we thought it nice to offer a few stitched goodies to the cottage landlady...
Cows, of course!
A first for me.
Here we have my small
Guernsey cow
Designed by Kate Mawdsley
Available in TWOCS issue 177

Stitched on Cloud Green 16 count Aida fabric from Sew It All
2 over 1, using DMC threads

Started 29 Mar 2016
Finished 1 Apr 2016
Total stitching time: 8h30mns

And finished as a pinkeep using
the fabric showing on the first picture for the back.

The girls have been busy too,
the Jersey cow stitched by Justine.

I have finished it off as a pinkeep.

More info about this project will be available on Justine's blog

And Rachel's stitched piece, a Friesian cow that I too helped finishing as a pinkeep.

Again, more info about this project on Rachel's blog.

Here is our little trio,
ready for our next retreat...
Which just happen to be in 9 days time!

Close To You - Maia | End Apr 2016

Good afternoon Peeps!

I am back with an update.

I have been busy this month stitching away for the
Faithful April Challenge organized by Justine

This is my chosen long time WIP
Close To You

A kit including
16 count tan aida fabric and
Ancho threads

This is how it will eventually look

This is how I left it mid April

And this is how it looks now

It is unfortunately not yet finished
but I am so pleased with all my hard work.

I will keep working on it for the time being,
as the finish line is certainly in sight.
