Friendship Grows - Lizzie Kate

Sometimes exchanges don't all go smoothly.
The Easter Egg Change I have organized a few months ago was one of them.
The deadline is long gone and Ariadne has sadly not received her gifts.
It seems that Emma's exchange for Ariadne got lost in the post.

I felt so bad for Ariadne, this situation was so unfair.
So, I decided to send her a few bits and pieces.
Now that my parcel has safely arrived in Greece, it's time to share with you what I have put together!

My first item was a little ornament.
The design is called Friendship Grows, from Lizzie Kate
I have stitched this on a simple 14ct cream aida fabric,
and used all the advised DMC thread colours.

I have sewn a light blue dragonfly button to finish off the design.
Mounted as an ornament with a felt back.

This was the first time I made an ornament this way and I was ever so pleased with the overall look.
I wish I could have kept this one for me!!

Then we have Spring from Ancsanapló
This cute little design is one of four in the series
Again I stitched this on a plain 14ct cream aida fabric
and used all 4 recommended DMC thread colours.

I've decided to finish it as a biscornu.
I have also added a little heart shaped button from my stash to finish it off.

Spring definitely comes to mind when you look at it, don't you think?

I have also included various bits & pieces in my envelope.
Anchor threads, beads, felt sheets, buttons, ric rac and a fat quarter of fabric.
Let's not forget a few chocolaty & sugary treats!

It was fun working on these unplanned projects!
I had to improvise because Easter is now gone, but I am really pleased with the result.

Enjoy your gifts Ariadne,
I hope you'll have fun using these when you let your creative spirit run free ☺

Well the sunshine might be gone
but my day has been bright and happy!

Justine over at Justine's Cross Stitch has sent me the loveliest RAK :)

Following my Easter Egg Change disappointments,
- Yes, someone else has not received their goodies, but that's for an other post -
Justine has surprised me with some delightful gifts...

What a fantastic treat!

A beautiful handmade gift,
the most adorable little mouse ever,
finished as a perfect little cushion

A sweet Lizzie Kate chart
and some WDW threads!

And there is more,

pretty wooden pegs and candles.
They both smell heavenly

The parcel had a delicious scent when I first opened it, so exciting!!

Thank you so much Justine.

This was an absolute surprise and made my day.
I love all my gifts and keep admiring this little mouse!
Sending you big hugs xxx

I will be back soon with some finishes
Happy stitching!

Chasse à l'oeuf - Tralala

Finally, I have a little finish to share with you!!
It is slightly late due to Easter holiday and various unplanned cross stitch projects I had to finish first,
but nonetheless here is a belated Easter finish

This is "Chasse à l'Oeuf" from Tralala
I have stitched it on 28ct Zweigart pink Britney evenweave fabric
Worked 2 over 2, using all 12 recommended DMC thread colours

I have finished it off as a sweet little pinkeep
Using some grey Tilda fabric for the back (see picture below)
Some matching trim & a cute little bird pin from Butterfly Couture (Thank you Françoise!)

Although I seem to have pictured his "derrière" more than his cute little face on my pictures :)

I am absolutely delighted with this latest finish!
I think it is adorable.

This morning the postman delivered the chart
"He's a Flake" from LHN

I was lucky to win CJ's giveaway over at Tea and Stitches
CJ left a note & requested I pass this chart to a new stitcher once I have finished with it.
I'm sure you'll all understand that as this being a winter design, I will work on it later on...

So keep an eye on it, if you'd like to stitch this
There will be a post all about it in the coming months!

Enjoy the weekend and wonderful weather,
I'm off to work on my Gorjuss girl now :)

Happy Stitching!

Happy Spring - The Snowflower Diaries

Isn't it frustrating when someone joins an exchange and
doesn't play the game by sending out items to their partner???

Yep... it happened several times during my Easter Egg Change!

In this instance, Bernadett was supposed to send her gifts to Albéna.
We are now in May, and there is still no news from Bernadett...

So I have sadly decided I will no longer organise/take part in anymore exchange...
I am so disappointed.
I will finish & honour the Gorjuss exchange that is currently taking place, but that's it.
No more from Mii.

Of course, as host, I couldn't leave Albéna without any surprises.
So here is what I have put together for her ☺

I was so pleased with this design when I received it from my partner,
that I decided to stitch it for Albéna.

This is Happy Spring from The Snowflower Diaries

Yep, blurry picture....Sorry!

Stitched on cream Zweigart Aida 14ct fabric,
using all preconized DMC thread colours.

Finished off as yet again another little cushion
with fabric I found in my stash as well as lace & ribbon.

Can I just add that I despise Lazy Daisies even more than French Knots!!!

Let's carry on with the bluryness!!!

To complete my little parcel, I have added a CCN chart, some Spring looking buttons,
a fat quarter of fabric, some flowery trim and various chocolates too.

I've just noticed I've also included to this,
a selection of Anchor skeins with Spring colours...

Apologies I forgot to snap them with my camera.

Blurry, blurry, blurry....I promise I'm not suffering from any withdrawals at all!! My camera is too good really :P

Even though, it was a bit of a mad last minute rush,
I really enjoyed putting this little parcel together.

I hope Albéna enjoys her goodies & forgive me for this little "hiccup"!

Happy Stitching!

May Stamp - Lizzie Kate

Oooh, would it be May already??
I guess it's Lizzie Kate stamp time then!

May stamp from Lizzie Kate
Stitched on 28 ct pink Zweigart Britney evenweave, 2 over 2.
I used all DMC preconized colours

I placed the provided blue mini buttons on the birdhouse as advised
and finished this quick project as a small pincushion.

I used some sweet fabric I had in my stash.
I really think it suits perfectly, it's within the same colour tones & has little birds too!
I also placed some ribbon & a yellow button from my little treasure boxes :)

On an other note, participation to the Gorjuss exchange is now closed.
There are only 3 of us taking part, but it is promising to be fun!
Stay tuned and we will soon show you our fabulous goodies...
At the moment we are all getting quite excited starting stitching our cute little girls!

For my UK readers, enjoy the long weekend!
Yay, no work on Monday!!!! Don't you love that feeling?

Happy Stitching!
