Let Love Bloom - Country Cottage Needleworks

Happy belated Valentine's Day!
Sorry I am a day late with my post
Things have been quite busy, windy & rainy around here
Let's just say this is my excuse :)

First is my latest finish
Let Love Bloom from CCN
Stitched on 28ct Brittney evenweave lilac, 2 over 2
Using preconised DMC colours except for the greens
Full stitches & French knots

Finished as a pinkeep
using batting, pink fabric, pink ribbon & coloured pins

Recently I was lucky to win the main prizes on several giveaways!

There was one from sweet June at Butterfly wings
This one is a little special, so will be subject to a later post

There was also Steph's giveaway over at Show & Tell
I was really surprised to find out I came first & won her mystery parcel

Here are the lovely items I've received, all nicely packed in a HUGE envelope

A sweet card, salty caramel candle & buttons assortment

The cutest little felty creation
Perfect for my pins, needles & scissors
Complete with a piece of white sparkly aida fabric!

The last item is really really impressive
When I first saw it folded I thought,
OMG, Steph has made a granny blanket!!! WOW!!
(Let's just say I wish I could make one myself, but would have to learn to crochet first...)
When I unfolded the MASSIVE creation it revealed the most pretty crochet blanket.... Star shaped!!!
It's huge :) Here is part of it on one of my sofas

Thank you so so much Steph!!
I love all you lovely gifts

Finally I have been admiring many of these frilly scarves over several blogs.
Tania kindly emailed me a tutorial (thank you sweetie) and I decided to give it a go!!!
Here are my first 3 finished
Now due a little trip to the post office, to send some over to my family

Happy Stitching!

Valentine Bird - Heart In Hand

It was with great pleasure I agreed to take part in a Valentine themed exchange with
Shannon from A bit of this and that over in USA.

Here are the great goodies I've received

Shannon made the cutest, neatest, most perfect little pinkeep!
The design is so sweet and the item smells gorgeous too
Thank you sweetie, I am absolutely thrilled with my gifts :)

This is what I prepared for the swap
I chose Valentine Bird chart from Heart In Hand
Stitched it on 28 ct Zweigart Brittney evenweave, lilac colour
Used most of the listed DMC colours and some of my own choice,
Worked 2 over 2 and added a heart button

This little chart was really fun to work on, it also had 2 speciality stitches which were a first for me!

I decided to finish this bird as an ornament and had quite an ordeal with it!!
Note I made this before I actually took time to fix my sewing machine...

I used a pink Tilda fabric for the back and also had a go at ruched ribbon...
This was a first too for me and it was fun. Even though I used over 4 metres of ribbon!!
And finally a little charm to make everything look pretty!

Also enclosed in my envelope were a few bits & pieces
An other Heart in Hand chart, Rico Designs fabric, ric rac, beads, buttons, charms
Heart candle, heart milk chocolate & a little door sign (which I forgot to include on the picture!)

That's it for today dear friends
I'll be back soon with more little crosses...

Happy Stitching!

February Stamp - Lizzie Kate

We're in February already!
This is the beginning of the month, so on my little blog, it can only mean:
Lizzie Kate Stamp time!

Here it is!
Stitched on Zweigart Brittney lilac fabric, 28 ct
(even though the pictures don't really show the colour so well!)

I've used all DMC charted colours, 2 over 2

Finished off as a very small & cute little cushion
With supplied pink buttons for the flowers, Tilda fabric, white lace & charm

I finally fixed my sewing machine, so the finishing off was a doodle!!
Amazing what can be done when one actually take time to follow the set up instructions :P

On an other note, emails have been sent out yesterday for the Easter Egg-change
You should all know who your partner will be :)
In this year exchange we are 22 participants, from 11 different countries
So pleased with the response & many apologies to those of you I had to turn down
I hope you'll join the fun next year

Off to watch the Rugby - Six Nations is back on! - & stitch, of course!

Happy Stitching!
